Recess Coach

Who we ARE:

Seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join our team as a Recess Lead Coach! In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing the recess experience for students by promoting positive social interactions, organizing engaging activities, and fostering a healthy and inclusive play environment.

Hours: 4 hour shifts during Recess time (between 9:00am - 2:30pm)

Location: Elk Grove Unified School District

What WE’RE looking for:

• Have AT LEAST 3 day weekday availability
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Previous experience working with children (a plus)
• A background in sports or fitness (a plus)
• Motivation to grow and develop within a role

Responsibilities:

• Implement creative and age-appropriate recess activities to promote character development, physical fitness, and nutrition
• Lead large groups of students in activities, ensuring they understand the curriculum
• Be a role model, guiding students to develop positive social behaviors and communication skills
• Maintain control of assigned groups, ensuring safety during outdoor play and addressing safety concerns promptly
• Collaborate with fellow coaches and school leadership to follow protocols and ensure smooth transitions during activities
• Organize and maintain equipment for recess activities, ensuring a clean and orderly play area
• Work across multiple schools in the assigned region, inspiring a broad range of students

What we REQUIRE:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Ability to pass LiveScan background check
• Must clear TB test
